Procedure for Total Consecration

to Jesus through Mary

You can do this as an individual but better still, with your family:

1.  Pray the Total Consecration to Jesus thru Mary (TC JM) daily, before you start your day.
 
2.  Read The Cities of Mary by Architect Marie Cancio, or The Secret of Mary or True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort.

3. Choose your Day of TC JM, preferably a feast of Mama Mary (list of Marian feast days below).

4.  Prepare for 33 days before your Day of TC JMusing Book 2: 33 Days Prep for TC JM: Entrance into the City of Mary

5.  Go to Confession before your Day of TC JM.
 

6.  On your Day of Total Consecration (34th Day):
    Go to Holy Mass, receive Holy Communion with the intention of consecrating yourself to Jesus thru Mary as His slave of love. Pray TC JM after Communion or right after Holy Mass. Sign your name and write the date on your copy. Offer Jesus and Mary a tribute, ex. fasting, self-denial, alms, etc.

7.  Yearly, prepare and renew TC JM on the same date.

8.  Live TC JM by dying to yourself and living only to make Jesus happy, Do everything with, in, and for Jesus. Repeat “Totus Tuus” or the short act of TC JM many times a day to maintain that loving surrender and union with Jesus, who is your Love, Peace, and Joy.

Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary     

     St. Louis de Montfort advises us to prepare for the Consecration by exercises which certainly are not compulsory, but which assure its great efficacy because of the purity and other dispositions which they tend to develop in our souls.
  
      Two different periods are assigned for these exercises: 
1) A preliminary period of twelve days during which we endeavor “to free ourselves from the spirit of the world”; then
2) A second period of three weeks – the first devoted to the knowledge of ourselves; the second to that of the Blessed Virgin; and the third to that of Jesus Christ.

   These periods mentioned by St. Louis Marie de Montfort do not constitute a rigorous and unchangeable division.
   The object of this Consecration is to cast off the spirit of the world, which is contrary to that of Jesus Christ, in order to acquire fully the spirit of Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin.

Hence the practices suggested by St. Louis Marie de Montfort are:
Renouncement of the world
Knowledge of self
Knowledge of the Blessed Virgin
Knowledge of of Jesus Christ.
